Thank you for your interest in our programs at Sacramento Ultrasound Institute! Below you’ll find important information regarding prerequisites and transfer credit policies for our Sonography, RT, ICVT, and MRI programs.
For our Cardiac Sonography and Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs:
Applicants must meet all prerequisite requirements with a grade of “B” or higher (recent coursework is not required).
Required Prerequisite Courses:
Communication Skills (3+ credits),
Anatomy and Physiology (6+ credits - usually taken in two different courses),
Mathematics (3+ credits),
Physics (3+ credits).

Transfer Credit Guidelines – RT, ICVT, and MRI Programs:
You may choose to transfer previously completed general education courses with a “B” or higher into your program.
Courses must have been completed within the last 5 years to be considered.
RT & ICVT Transfer Credit Courses:
Mathematics (3+ credits),
English (3+ credits),
Medical Terminology (2+ credits),
Anatomy & Physiology (6+ credits).
MRI Required Transfer Credit Courses:
College Reading (3+ credits),
Psychology (3+ credits),
Mathematics (3+ credits),
Anatomy & Physiology (8+ credits - can be paired with Med Term).
