Welcome to the CCS Equivalency Database!
This database is a self-guided equivalency tool that helps you find approved courses that meet CCS’s graduation requirements
Our curriculum is unique and often requires a higher concentration of studio coursework than other institutions. This is why it is important to communicate your goals with the appropriate CCS student services department to ensure that any classes you are considering will apply to your degree. Save yourself time, money, and headache by working with your counselor here to put together an approved plan before you enroll at another institution.
Future students should meet with their Undergraduate Admissions counselor to put together a Transfer Plan. If you don’t know who your CCS admissions counselor is, you can get started by completing the form below and someone from our transfer team will reach out to help you get started.

You are a Future Student if one or both of these statements applies to you:
- you have not taken courses at CCS before
- you have only taken classes as a guest student here or through CCS’s Precollege and Continuing Education program (this includes non-credit, summer, and dual enrollment courses)
Current students should meet with their Academic Advisor to verify how credits will transfer into their degree program before attempting registration of transfer credits at a Guest Institution. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure courses are satisfied and meet current college standards for degree completion.
You are a Current Student if:
- you are now enrolled or have previously enrolled at CCS in a BFA program.

Steps to Transfer Credits - Current Students
All transfer credit placement is subject to our Undergraduate Transfer Credit Policy (see below). Also please note that placement of major studio (art and design) coursework is generally determined during the admission process. This database may include some studio courses. Prospective and current students should note that transfer of individual studio courses is not guaranteed regardless of grade.
Work samples are required for review and placement for all students.
For current students, credit for studio coursework is awarded at the sole discretion of the respective Department Chair; portfolio review is required. It is recommended that all studio courses are completed at CCS to meet current program expectations.
Transfer credit equivalencies are subject to change and final determination of credit placement is evaluated by the Registrar upon receiving an official/final transcript.
