Transfer Credit Eligibility Policy (Effective 3/1/2023)
National University accepts transfer credit from regionally and nationally accredited institutions. Credit may also be accepted from institutions accredited by agencies that are members of Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or from collegiate institutions accredited by non-CHEA member agencies, provided these agencies are recognized by the Department of Education.
CSU General Education Certifications and IGETC
National University accepts the California State University (CSU) General Education Breadth Certification and the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC). All requirements for CSU General Education and IGETC must be fully completed and certified before transferring to National University, as partial certifications are not accepted. An official transcript with the certification or a separate certification form from the community college must be provided.
Special Note: Students who complete all General Education coursework at a community college will be required to take one upper division general education elective for their program to meet the upper division general education requirement.
Remedial courses taken to achieve minimum levels of collegiate level competency in the areas of writing and mathematical concepts and systems do not satisfy any portion of the general education requirement.
The articulation guides provided on this website are one way only, the courses listed are courses that National University will accept. To see which courses from National University will transfer to an external institution, the student will need to contact the external Institution.
