DISCLAIMER:
The Gonzaga University transfer equivalency database is designed to be a reference tool for prospective students. The equivalencies contained within the database serve as a guide to understanding how transfer credit may be accepted from other regionally accredited institutions. Equivalencies currently listed within the database are not a guarantee of transfer credit; students wishing to receive transfer credit must submit an official transcript for evaluation, and coursework must meet Gonzaga University’s Academic Policies regarding the transfer and evaluation of credit. A transcript is considered "official" when it is issued directly to Gonzaga University from the college or university where credit was earned, and it arrives sealed, stamped, or via secure electronic delivery. Transcripts issued directly to the student are considered 'unofficial' in nature.
GU Course Equivalent:
An incoming course that has a Gonzaga equivalent will be listed with a course prefix for an academic discipline (for example: ENGL (English), BIOL (Biology), PHIL (Philosophy), etc.). Course level will be identified as 1XX, 2XX, 3XX, or 4XX, respectively.
General Elective Course:
An incoming course that cannot readily be determined as a direct equivalent to a Gonzaga course will display with a “TRAN” course prefix. In many cases, this simply means that the course may require a syllabus review by department faculty to determine an equivalency.
This database is ever-changing and course equivalencies listed in the guide are subject to change without notice. Students are encouraged to verify transfer equivalencies with the Office of Admission in advance. In accordance with Gonzaga's Undergraduate Catalog policies, any transfer coursework applicable to certain core, major, minor, or concentration area requirements, must have a syllabus reviewed by respective department chair faculty to determine GU equivalency, regardless of current equivalencies listed in the database.
***Important Notice to Current Gonzaga Students***
All currently enrolled Gonzaga students must obtain approval to transfer credit before enrolling in any coursework outside of the University, including summer terms. GU students must complete a Permission to Transfer Credits Form before registering for any courses at another institution. Forms may be submitted to the Registrar’s Office located in College Hall, Room 229.
Coursework from the following institutions, for example, are generally considered non-transferrable to Gonzaga's Undergraduate programming since these are not regionally accredited institutions: Straighterline, edX, Coursera, and Study.com.
