Currently Enrolled RPI Students: To request a course to be transferred from an external institution, complete a Transfer Credit Approval Form. Follow all instructions as listed on the Transfer Credit Approval Form. If you have not received written approval prior to taking a course, it does not guarantee the course will transfer. Students are only able to receive the amount of credit a course is taken for at the external institution. Please check a course equivalent's note for specific credit.

Newly Admitted Freshmen: Please follow this procedure to request courses you have completed at accredited colleges while you were in high school for evaluation. Incoming Freshmen/High School Certification Form. Accepted AP Scores can be found under The College Board. Accepted scores are based on policy for a student's catalog year. Please check a course equivalent's note for specific requirements. More information can be located under Registar Academic Planning. Incoming students starting Fall 2022 and on, are required to submit all prior AP, IB, dual enrollment, or transfer credit requests by the end of their first year. Students are only able to receive the amount of credit a course is taken for at the external institution.

Study Abroad: To review courses that have previously been transferred - please type "Study Abroad" in the Institution Search. The information provided is not a comprehensive list of all institutions or all courses at a particular institution. Transfer credit may be granted for courses not listed after review by the faculty. Please contact the Office of International Programs for more information regarding the process and requirements to transfer Study Abroad courses.
