TRANSFER PATHWAYS GUIDE: DATA ANALYTICS (BSBA)
Data Analytics is a joint program of the Zimpleman College of Business and the College of Arts & Sciences designed to develop analysts who can work with data to uncover practical insights and support sound and ethical decision-making. The foundation of the program is a core of computer science and statistics classes that build problem-solving skills.

Data Analytics is also available as a major within the College of Arts & Sciences. The key difference between the majors is that Zimpleman students complete the business core, whereas Arts & Sciences students do not. Drake accepts the DMACC Business and Mathematics Transfer Majors. Please use the following guide to identify appropriate course choices, such as for calculus and statistics, if you are pursuing a transfer major.

Students are not required to take any or all of these courses in order to transfer to Drake but may use this as a guide to take applicable coursework for this degree program.

Using Drake's Transfer Pathways Guides
Many courses from DMACC transfer to Drake; check TES for additional transfer course details. The courses listed here are required in the following majors and can be completed either before or after transfer to Drake. Students are encouraged to work with their DMACC advisor to develop a plan that utilizes as many of these courses as possible to satisfy core and elective requirements for their degree program.

General Education Articulation Agreement
Drake honors Associate of Arts (AA degrees) and Associate of Sciences (AS degrees) from the state of Iowa community college system, including Des Moines Area Community College, to complete Drake's general education curriculum (known as the Areas of Inquiry). Students must complete 60 transferable credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA to qualify.

Reverse transfer to complete the AA or AS with one or two Drake courses is also possible. If you have questions, please discuss this possibility with a Drake Admission Counselor or a DMACC advisor.

Business Core
Students study a common core of courses as well as a selected major in one or more areas of study. The following courses are required of all business majors at Drake and can be completed while at DMACC or after transfer to Drake.

Either CSC 116 or BCA 212 will fulfill the IS 044 requirement; students do not need to take both.
