TRANSFER PATHWAYS GUIDE: GRAPHIC DESIGN AND STUDIO ART MAJORS
Graphic Design and Studio Art majors are housed in the College of Arts & Sciences. There are many courses in common across these majors. View Drake's catalog for more details on each of these programs.

Students are not required to take any or all of these courses in order to transfer to Drake but may use this as a guide to take applicable coursework for these degree programs.

Using Drake's Transfer Pathways Guides
Many courses from DMACC transfer to Drake; check TES for additional transfer course details. The courses listed here are required in the following majors and can be completed either before or after transfer to Drake. Students are encouraged to work with their DMACC advisor to develop a plan that utilizes as many of these courses as possible to satisfy core and elective requirements for their degree program.

General Education Articulation Agreement
Drake honors Associate of Arts (AA degrees) and Associate of Sciences (AS degrees) from the state of Iowa community college system, including Des Moines Area Community College, to complete Drake's general education curriculum (known as the Areas of Inquiry). Students must complete 60 transferable credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA to qualify.

Reverse transfer to complete the AA or AS with one or two Drake courses is also possible. If you have questions, please discuss this possibility with a Drake Admission Counselor or a DMACC advisor.

Graphic Design
Drake offers both a BA and BFA in Graphic Design. The BA requires 52 credits; the BFA requires 85 credits, including a studio art emphasis. Transfer courses common to both degree options are listed below.
