This guide provides general equivalents for students pursuing Oakland Community College's Assoc. in Applied Science and seeking to transfer to the College for Creative Studies' Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Art + Design

Major Requirements for Graphic Design GRD.AAS
The list of courses below includes all Graphic Design (GRD) and required supportive studio courses that must be completed at OCC to receive the associate in applied science. Students must also complete ONE internship or Advanced Design Projects course. CCS recommends students request a transfer credit evaluation prior to completing this requirement to ensure full transfer of credit.

*Note- Composition II is ultimately required for all CCS students. If seeking transfer, this students who complete ENG 1350 (Business Communications) instead of Composition may be required to take additional 1st year courses upon matriculation. ENG 1350 may will be eligible for elective credit however, ENG 1510 is recommended.

Mathematics / Science requirement

This course will fulfill the 'SCI' (Natural Science) degree requirement upon transfer to CCS.

Details on Degree Completion and Admission Requirements
Students who follow this transfer guide and attend CCS full-time upon transfer can complete the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Art + Design in as little as two years (4 terms). Click Here to view a detailed equivalency chart & potential transfer plan
Minimum requirements for admissions consideration are as follows:
a. C or higher, 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for all course courses
b. Submission of an admissions portfolio to CCS that includes projects completed in required [major studio] courses from the Associate in Applied Science Graphic Design program at OCC
c. Completion of an application form at CCS
Additional Guidance for Students
• Students are encouraged to meet with an OCC Advisor prior to following this Transfer Guide and with a CCS Admissions Counselor before enrolling in their third term to maximize admissions, scholarships, and transfer opportunities.
• This guide does not include any remedial courses that may be required at OCC and may not include prerequisite requirements.
• The College for Creative Studies requires that a minimum of a “C” (2.0) be earned in each course to be considered for transfer credit, extraneous and remedial courses may not qualify for transfer credit.
• Use of this guide does not guarantee OCC students acceptance into CCS and/or the corresponding major/program and/or degree. OCC students and graduates will receive equal consideration with other students seeking admission to the CCS Interdisciplinary Art + Design Program.
