CCS MTA GUIDE FOR WASHTENAW COMMUNITY COLLEGE

The courses listed below are grouped in categories that are outlined under the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA)
To fulfill the Michigan Transfer Agreement, students must successfully complete at least 30 credits, with at least a 2.0 in each course and at least one credit completed at the institution awarding the MTA. These credits should be met according to the following distribution:
One course in English Composition and a second course in either English Composition or a course in Communications
Two courses in Humanities and Fine Arts (from two disciplines)
Two courses in Social Sciences (from two disciplines)
One course in Mathematics from one of three pathways including Quantitative Reasoning (the state's recommended course for students seeking to complete a degree in the visual arts)
Two courses in Natural Sciences including one with laboratory experience (from two disciplines)

The courses outlined above have been selected by CCS as the preferred options for students who wish to complete the MTA at Washtenaw Community College
The equivalents provided fulfill specific requirements upon transfer that are taken in a student’s 1st and 2nd year of study.
This guide is intended for students who are beginning their transfer path. If you have previously completed any college level credit, including credit by examination (i.e. AP or IB), we encourage you to apply and receive your Transfer Credit Evaluation prior to starting a new transfer plan to avoid duplication of coursework..
